Wondering if you should watch Merlin? Here's a little more info to see if it sounds like your cup of tea....

This is Arthur Pendragon (played by Bradley James). Arthur is the son of Uther, prince of Camelot, and all around hottie with a fast sword and, when we get to see behind the chainmail, a great ass, I might add.

This is Merlin (played by Colin Morgan). Merlin is from an outlying village in another kingdgom, is a bit of a dork, and ended up being Arthur's manservant while apprenticing for the court physician, Gaius (who, sadly, resembles Mad Max from The Princess Bride than Gaius Balthar). Oh, and Merlin is also a warlock. In a court where any magic is punishable by death. Did I mention he works for the prince and the king? Oops.

Here's Arthur with his father, Uther (yes, that's Anthony Stewart Head). Uther's a bit of an ass, but he loves his son. And, hey, he landed Merlin in Arthur's chambers as his manservant, so we can forgive him for being an ass most of the time.

Arthur and Merlin are quite adorable. Arthur berates him for being the worst servant ever half the time, but he doesn't seem to mind it, and he shows very quickly that he'd go to the ends of the earth to protect/save Merlin, so all that gruffness is clearly hiding TWU WUUUV! some genuine affection of some sort.

I don't have a picture of the dragon, but he's chained up (Uther chained him up when he crushed the magic, I believe), and he sometimes offers Merlin some rather cryptic insight into the future and then leaves Merlin to figure out WTF he meant.

Guest stars have included Santiago Cabrera (Isaac from Heroes--playing Lancelot!), Eve Myles (Gwen from Torchwood, and if you dislike her character as much as I do on TW, you seriously need to see ep 1 of Merlin--it is so very satisfying), and Michelle Ryan (who played the new Bionic Woman last year).

The show is so slashy that the Daily Star did an article on it called "The Court of Queen Arthur." And that was before the two most recent episodes, which pushed the slash to epic proportions.

So, if this sounds like your thing, head over to http://tvshack.net/tv/Merlin/ and watch the eps online. Tonight's ep isn't up yet, but I'm assuming it'll be up soon. Oh, if you're a bittorrent person, any of the big torrent sites would likely have all the eps. Eleven eps have aired, two more to come before the season ends, but rumor has it they're ordering a second season.

If you watch, let me know what you think! :)
